2014 Xterra Canmore

Images from the 2014 Xterra Offroad Canmore Alberta. Xterra Canmore is Canada’s longest running and largest offroad tri/duathlon. Held on August 17, the event began with a swim and run at Quarry Lake before moving up to the Canmore Nordic Centre for the mountain bike and final run stage.

Haywood NorAm Buff Sprints in Rossland – Women

And the women’s racing:

Emily Nishikawa of the Alberta World Cup Adademy won the 2013 Black Jack Haywood NorAm Buff Sprints in Rossland, BC. Following barely a boot length behind, teammate Heidi Widmer edged out Rocky Mountain Racer’s Olivia Bouffard Nesbitt in a photo finish. Katherine Steward Jones of Nakkertok was the top Junior Women of the day, breaking off of the front and skiing solo to the line.

Haywood NorAm in Rossland – Buff Sprints – Men

Images from the 2013 Haywood NorAm Buff Sprints in Rossland, BC. An international field made for tough competition in soft 0ºC conditions. Eric Bjornsen of the Alaska Pacific Univeristy out sprinted Miles Havlick of Sun Valley in a tight dash to the line to win the Senior Men’s category. Graham Nishikawa was the top Canadian in third. Matt Saurette of Rocky Mountain Racers was the fastest in the Junior Men’s competition.

Frozen Thunder Skate TT

With nearly ever top cross country skier and biathlete in Canada in attendance, the 2013 Frozen Thunder skate time trial turned out a competitive field. 4 laps for the women, 6 for the men around a 2.3km loop at the Canmore Nordic Centre. USA’s Caitlin Gregg took the top spot in the women’s race, with Ivan Babikov leading the men. Results can be found on Web Scorer.
